Week 13: Patriots Clinch AFC East Title

'Slow and steady wins the race' was the approach for the New England Patriots on Sunday as they met up with then 5-6 Miami Dolphins.

Quarterback Tom Brady kept the passes short and emphasized the running game, stringing out the Pats drives as long as possible toward the end. Despite being a low scoring game, taking away a win was most important to the team this week.

Ridley ran a 2 yard touchdown in, followed by a 44 yard Dolphins field goal. The game came to a tight 17-10 after NE put up another TD and FG to Miami's single FG. 3rd quarter was scoreless, while the 4th quarter utilized both kickers again for 2 FGs a piece.

Tom Brady had an underwhelming 24 for 40 completions, 238 yards, four sacks, and an interception. But with the final score reaching 23-16 Patriots, a win is a win, and this time it's good for the 2012 AFC East Title.

Week 12: New England Fans Have Much to be Thankful For

Whether you're from New England or New York, you can appreciate a good old fashioned rivalry. Well Thanksgiving Thursday's matchup of Patriots at Jets was certainly vindication for the Beantown boys.

Though both teams were scoreless in the first quarter, the board lit up immediately in the second quarter with FIVE Patriots touchdowns, three of them within 52 seconds of play! The game really fell apart for NY fans as they watched quarterback Mark Sanchez blindly run into the backside of his own teammate, fumble, and allow the Patriots to recover it for another 7 points. They even began chanting for an injured Tim Tebow to come in.

Patriots went quiet again through the third quarter allowing a Jets Safety and TD to make the score 35-12. And in the final quarter, NE put up another 2 touchdowns to NY's 1. For NE: Julian Edelman (2 TD), Wes Welker (TD), Shane Vereen (TD), Tom Brady (TD), Steve Gregory (TD), Stevan Ridley (TD), Stephen Gostkowski (7 Extra Points). Final Score 49-19 Patriots.

Week 11: New England Welcomes Indy With a Capital 'W'

Sunday's Patriots team was unstoppable. Despite an impressive first quarter performance by the Indianapolis Colts, New England showed up in the second ready to send it home. And send it home they did.

For the third time in his career, Julian Edelman ran a 68 yard punt return in for a touchdown. Just three plays later, the Pats' new CB Aqib Talib made his debut with a 59 yard pick run for another TD on the board.

The second half worsened for the Colts beyond repair as several more Patriots got a slice of the touchdown pie. Edelman, Gronkowski, Dennard, Ridley, and Vereen all put their own 6 pts on the board. Three of the 5 second half touchdowns came in the fourth quarter. And Gostkowski had 5 good extra point kicks.

Rob Gronkowski was the player of the game with 7 receptions for 137 yards and 2 TD. He left the field late in the game with a broken arm, and is not expected back for 4-6 weeks following his Monday surgery. Final Score 59-24 Patriots.

Week 10: Pats Have a Hard Time Shaking Bills

After a Week 9 BYE, New England was expected to come back Sunday and dominate the then 3 and 5 Buffalo Bills. But in true 2012 Patriots fashion, the early 17-3 lead was quickly beat down to just 34-31 with nearly 8 minutes left on the clock.

The Bills and Pats scored a touchdown a piece in the 3rd Quarter, leaving a 7 point lead for NE heading into the 4th. Gostkowski managed two field goals, one for 48 yards, and the other, a 4th and 1 decision for 27 yards, putting the score at 34-31. Buffalo got the football back with enough time to barrel down the field to the Patriots 15-yard line and threaten New England with a game-winning TD. Luckily, Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick made a fatal pass straight into the hands of Devin McCourty, effectively ending the way-too-close game.

Tom Brady made 23/48, for 237 yards - 2 TD, 0 INT. Ryan Fitzpatrick surprisingly went 27/40 for 337 yards - 2 TD, and that one painful interception. Final Score 34-31 Patriots.

Week 8: Patriots Face Rams in Wembley Stadium

First let us apologize for the delay in our recap! Sandy stole our electricity. But not to worry, we've got it back and everyone has now showered.

Sunday's matchup between the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots took place across the pond in lovely London. And boy did the Old England get a New England show.

Chris Givens of the Rams scored an early 50 yard TD pass starting the game off with a bang, but NE's Brandon Lloyd came right back with a 19 yard reception and TD. Following, New England scored on every possession until late in the 3rd Quarter when they made their first punt. 2nd Quarter allowed a Vereen, Gronkowski, and Ridley touchdown each. Lloyd came back for another TD in the 3rd, followed by a Gostkowski FG for 3. And finally, Gronk took it home with a 14 yard reception and touchdown in the fourth. Tom Brady was again the Patriots player of the game with 23/35 completed for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. Final Score 45-7 Patriots.
